Understanding the Brokerage Ramp-Up Period
At BluSky Trading, our goal is to turn developing traders into long-term professional traders. Statistics show that the first few trading days of transitioning from a simulated environment to a live brokerage account are the highest risk for account failure.
To protect your progress and foster disciplined execution, the Risk and Brokerage Departments may implement a Mandatory Ramp-Up Period for newly created Brokerage accounts.
● What it is: A 10-trading day period (minimum 10 profitable days) where contract limits are reduced and a Daily Loss Limit (DLL) equal to 50% of your starting balance is applied.
● The Goal: To help you acclimate to live market fills and execution without the risk of a "one-and-done" account failure on Day 1.
● The Reward: Traders who demonstrate consistency during this phase prove they are ready for professional-grade scaling.
Ramp-Up Period Rules & Scaling
If your account is placed in a Ramp-Up Period by the Risk and Brokerage Departments, the following adjustments will apply during your first 10 profitable trading days:
● Reduced Contract Limits: You will start with a lower maximum position size (e.g., if your account normally allows 3 Minis, you may be limited to 1 during Ramp-Up) as determined by the Risk and Brokerage Departments.
● Mandatory Daily Loss Limit (DLL): A hard daily stop equal to 50% of your starting balance will be placed on your account. If this limit is reached, your platform will flatten all positions and prevent further trading for the day.
● The 10-Day Requirement: You must complete a minimum of 10 profitable trading days. These do not need to be consecutive, but they must show positive net PnL to count toward your "graduation."
How to Scale Up: Once you have hit your 10th profitable day, the process is not automatic. You must email the Risk Team at [email protected] to request a Performance Review. Our team will analyze your consistency and, upon approval, remove or adjust the DLL and adjust your contract limits accordingly.
